The Adventures of Raindance Maggie… right here in Los Angeles

If you’ve visited this blog before, you know I am a life long music fan and frequent concertgoer. While I love to see shows when I’m traveling, I am extremely fortunate to live in Los Angeles. One of the most amazing things about this town is that so many people in the entertainment industry are involved in great causes. Sometimes I get to double dip—attend amazing shows and give money to a truly worthy cause.

Last night I went to see the Red Hot Chili Pepper perform at the Nokia theater at LA Live in a fundraiser for the Silverlak

e Conservatory of Music , a great organization which provides music lessons to the community, many of which are on scholarship. The Chili Pepper’s bassist, Flea, is one of the founders of the conservatory and put on an amazing show with his bandmates last night at the Nokia theater at LA Live. Tickets were expensive, and I’m proud to say I paid face value—they made sure scalpers weren’t getting the bulk of the revenue.

Here’s a little taste of Raindance Maggie that I got with my iPhone. I’m pro music. And I’m 100% pro music lessons. It was a great show and when I noticed the billionaire in the row in front of me (who has a massive educational foundation of his own) taking video on his smartphone, I got over myself and decided to write this post.

Also, I’d like to dedicate this post to my musician pals who also like to educate in my home town of Indianapolis, @MrKinetik and @RustyMK2. They have a hashtag/catchphrase called #ATFU, which stands for “all together for us.” I think Flea would approve of that sentiment.
