Even on a cloudy day Hong Kong’s harbor is impressive by helicopter
I head to South Africa later this month and then on to Hong Kong and I’m so excited to visit both places, especially since I get to fly on Cathay Pacific, my favorite airline. Truth be told, what I’m most excited about is returning to Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is an impressive city by any means and watching the working harbor is absolutely fascinating. The various views above the city are never less than impressive.

Last year, when my friend Rebecca and I went to Hong Kong we stayed 2 nights at the glistening W Hong Kong, which is located on Kowloon and has outstanding views of Victoria Harbor. Our Wow Suite also had a stunning view of the gleaming new Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong which just opened last year and is not only a stunning addition to the Kowloon skyline, but really stands out because it’s also the world’s tallest hotel (located on floors 102-118 in the International Commerce Center building) and stands 490 meters (or just over 1,607 feet) high.

We took a 15 minute “flightseeing” helicopter tour of Hong Kong which was a great way to figure out the lay of the land- and harbor. Here is some video I shot son my iPhone during our helicopter tour. The big, gleaming building that dominates the scene is ICC building, which houses the Ritz-Carlton hotel between floor 102-118.
