Playful, Citrus Hued Glamour at The Viceroy Palm Springs

The View from my Room at the Viceroy Down to the Pool and Citron Restaurant

It’s all about the pool being the center of the desert lifestyle at the citrus hued, cheerful and glamorous Viceroy Palm Springs. In fact there are three different pools on the property (including a family pool and an “adults only” pool) to choose from. You can lounge poolside during the day or even on a chilly desert night, when the firepits are burning, providing cozy and romantic seating areas that I enjoyed even though I was traveling solo.

Firepit Realness at the Viceroy Palm Springs

The Viceroy has found a sweet spot where Hollywood Regency glamour meets comfort, making the property’s fabulousness seem accessible and not at all fussy. The bold use of lemon hues works too– adding a fun and playful touch which keeps the space elegant but easy. Funky mirrors and potted cactus are nice visual counterpoints to the friendly furry guests you’ll meet near the pool (the property is pet-friendly too).  The Viceroy has a prime downtown location, making the property a desirable base for those who want to explore the town by foot.

Bathrooms are stocked with Neil George products galore. The hotel has all the expected amenities: a spa, a fabulous restaurant (Citron, which also has a poolside seating area for dining al fresco).

During my stay at the Viceroy Palm Springs, sipping a margarita poolside, I felt like I was staying in a Slim Aarons photograph more so than a hotel. The scale of the property makes it feel somewhat intimate. Mid-week, when I visited, the property wasn’t full, which made it feel like I had my own glamorous desert oasis, complete with a poolboy and fabulous lemonade.
