This morning I re-visited the Anne Frank House and I’m really glad I did. It’s been well over a decade since my last visit and I was surprised by how moved I was going through it again. It’s small and doesn’t require a huge time commitment to visit. The museum has select quotes from the Jewish teenager’s diary displayed in the very space where Anne was one of 8 people living in hiding from the Nazis for two years. The context really deepens your sense of understanding the great lengths Otto Frank went to in attempts to keep his family alive, and his extraordinary effort to ensure that Anne’s diary got published after losing his entire family in the holocaust.
